Sports Headlines–6/3/2016

The College Station Cougars still have not lost a play-off game two in school history after staging a three run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning last night in Huntsville to beat Tomball 6 to 5 and tie the best-of-three series at one-game-apiece. College Station and Tomball will now play at 1 pm tomorrow at Sam Houston State University to determine which team will represent Region III at the State Tournament next week.

The 2nd-ranked Texas A&M baseball team will host the first round of the NCAA play-offs today at Blue Bell Park. The Aggies will play Binghamton at 8 pm tonight. The early game this afternoon will pit Minnesota against Wake Forest. The two losers will play tomorrow at 3 while the two winners will play tomorrow at 8 pm.

The Brazos Valley Bombers have again postponed a series due to soaked fields. The Bombers rescheduled last night’s home opener with the Victoria Generals to June 19th. Tonight’s game has been cancelled and will not be made up. The next games for the Bombers are scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday nights in Youngsville, Louisiana, against the Acadiana Cane Cutters.

The Houston Astros lost a pitchers’ duel to the Arizona Diamondbacks last night 3 to nothing. Arizona’s Zack Greinke struck out 11 Houston batters. The Astros will begin a three game series tonight in Houston against the Oakland A’s.

The Texas Rangers will begin a three game series against the Seattle Mariners tonight in Arlington.
