The College Station Cougars baseball team will be playing from behind for the regional championship after dropping the first game of the best-of-three series in Huntsville last night 4 to 3 to Tomball. The two teams will play again tonight at 7 at Sam Houston State University. If College Station wins tonight, the deciding game will be played Saturday at 1 pm back in Huntsville.

The Brazos Valley Bombers were rained out again last night. The Bombers will try to get in a game tonight in their home opener against the Victoria Generals at 7 pm.

Hearne is once again looking for a new head football coach and athletics director. Chip Baker has resigned to become an assistant coach at Class 6A Conroe Oak Ridge. Hearne was winless during Baker’s two seasons as the head coach.

A walk-off homer by George Springer in the 11th-inning last night gave the Houston Astros a 5 to 4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Astros and Diamondbacks will play again today in Houston.

The Texas Rangers lost 5 to 4 in 11 innings last night to the Cleveland Indians. The Rangers have today off.
