College Station won the first game of their best-of-three Region Three Semi-final series with Santa Fe last night 3 to nothing. The series will move to Mumford tomorrow at 1 pm for game two and, if necessary, game three of the series.

The 2nd-ranked Texas A&M baseball team survived an elimination game at the SEC Tournament yesterday by beating 9th-ranked South Carolina 4 to 1. The Aggies will play 6th-ranked Vanderbilt today. Vanderbilt lost 12 to 9 to Ole Miss yesterday.

The opening weekend for the Brazos Valley Bombers has been washed out. The Bombers have postponed their games tonight and tomorrow with Acadiana until later in the season. The Bombers will now open the season on the road at The Woodlands on Tuesday night.

George Spring crushed two home runs yesterday to lead the Houston Astros to a 4 to 2 win over Baltimore and a sweep of the Orioles. The Astros begin a three game weekend series at the Los Angeles Angels tonight.

And, the Texas Rangers will begin a three game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight in Arlington.
