! The Navasota Theatre Alliance (NTA) opens live on stage the comedy “A Southern Fried Murder” September 28 through October 14, 2018, at the Theatre in Navasota. Mark Taylor, who recently director “A Tuna Christmas” returns to NTA as the guest director for this production.
In the heart of New Orleans, wealthy (but cantankerous) family matriarch, Magnolia Capote, has summoned her money-grubbing family, including her four granddaughters who are all also named “Magnolia”, to dinner in an opulent hotel dining room. The subject of their meeting? The disposition of her will, of course. When the elder Magnolia ends up dead, the family turns the hotel upside down hunting for treasure that will help interpret the instructions in the will. The hilarity of this dysfunctional, ‘Nawlins family will definitely have the audience dying, too (with laughter…of course).
NTA’s 2018 season is sponsored by a leadership gift from Gary & Mavis Anderson. Presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
There will be 11 performances opening Friday, Sept. 28 (opening reception begins at 6:20pm) to Sunday Oct. 14: Fridays through Saturdays and final Thursday at 7pm, with matinees on every Sundays and the final Saturday at 2pm.
