The Brazos Valley Bombers have now won 15 in a row after they beat the Texas Marshals in Plano Friday 5 to 1 and shut out the Strykers in The Woodlands on Saturday 3 to nothing and yesterday 9 to nothing. The Bombers will take a break for the Texas Collegiate League All-Star game until Thursday when they return home to host the Victoria Generals.

Former Texas A&M basketball guard and Southwest Conference Most Valuable Player of 1963 Bennie Lenox died Saturday at the age of 74. Lenox holds the Southwest Conference record for points scored in a game with 53. Following his collegiate career he was an assistant coach at the University of Texas from 1967 until 1973 and owned and operated a lumber company in Austin.

The Houston Astros won a road series in Seattle this weekend beating the Mariners on Friday 7 to 3, losing on Saturday 1 to nothing, but winning again yesterday 8 to 1. The Texas Rangers avoided a sweep by the Cubs in Chicago with a 4 to 1 win yesterday. The Rangers had lost on Friday 6 to nothing and on Saturday 3 to 1. The Astros continue their road trip in Oakland tonight while the Rangers are in Anaheim to take on the Los Angeles Angels.

And, Henrick Stenson held off Phil Mickelson yesterday to win the British Open Golf Championship.
