The Rudder Rangers baseball team picked up its first District 18-4A win of the season yesterday when they run-ruled Huntsville 10 to nothing in five innings. The Rangers will continue the district schedule at Caney Creek tonight. Also yesterday, the A&M Consolidated Tigers lost both games they played at the Waco Midway Tournament losing to Waxahachie 9 to 6 and Bryant, Arkansas, 8 to 4. The Tigers will play Tyler Lee and Waco Midway at the tournament today. And, the College Station Cougars went undefeated at the Lufkin Tournament yesterday beating Port Neches-Groves 8 to 4 and tying Brazoswood 3 to 3 when the time limit expired. The Cougars will play NacogdochesCenterHeights at the tournament today.
The A&M Consolidated Lady Tigers softball team came within a whisker of beating 6th-ranked The Woodlands in a District 14-5A game yesterday giving up a run in the top of the seventh inning during a 1 to nothing loss to the Lady Highlanders. The Lady Tigers will play at Bryan tonight in the first Crosstown Showdown game on the schedule. Also tonight, the Rudder Lady Rangers will play at Waller and the College Station Lady Cougars will host Tarkington.
The 15th-ranked Texas A&M women’s basketball team will play their first game at the S-E-C Tournament tonight at 7:30 pm when they take on Auburn in Duluth, Georgia.
The 25th-ranked Texas A&M baseball team will play the first game of a weekend three-game series tonight at 6:35 pm against Louisiana Tech. The Aggies and Bulldogs will also play tomorrow at 6:35 pm and Sunday at 1:05 pm.
The 13th-ranked Texas Aggie softball team will begin the S-E-C schedule tonight when they host Missouri at 7 pm for the first game of a weekend three-game series at the Aggie Softball Complex. The Aggies and Tigers will also play tomorrow at 4 pm and Sunday at 12 noon.
The Texas A&M men’s basketball team will finish the regular season schedule tomorrow with a home game in Reed Arena at 3 pm against Auburn.
And, in pro basketball last night, the San Antonio Spurs beat the visiting Miami Heat 111 to 87. Tonight, the Houston Rockets will host the Indiana Pacers and the Dallas Mavericks will host the Portland Trail Blazers. Tomorrow, the Spurs will host the Orlando Magic. And, Sunday, the Rockets will host the Trail Blazers and the Mavericks will host the Pacers.
