Sports Headlines–9/13/2013

Friday night means another week of local high school football.  The Bryan Vikings are hosting Belton at Merrill Green Stadium.  The A&M Consolidated Tigers will travel to Austin to play Westlake.  The Rudder Rangers are in Magnolia to play the District 18-4A opener.  And, the College Station Cougars are hosting Aldine Davis.  All of the games will kick off at 7:30 pm.

The high school volleyball teams are also playing tonight.  The Bryan Lady Vikings will host Conroe Oak Ridge for their District 14-5A opener.  The A&M Consolidated Lady Tigers will begin their District 14-5A schedule at Lufkin.  The Rudder Lady Rangers will play a District 18-4A match at Magnolia.  And, the College Station Lady Cougars are playing at Liberty.

The 6th-ranked Texas A&M football team will host top-ranked Alabama for a 2:30 pm kick-off tomorrow at Kyle Field.

The Blinn Buccaneers will begin their Southwest Junior College Conference schedule on the road at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M tomorrow night at 7 pm.

The 20th-ranked Texas Aggie soccer team will host the University of Massachusetts tonight for a 6 pm game at Ellis Field.

The Texas A&M volleyball team yesterday swept Siena and then swept 16th-ranked Florida State to get of to a quick start at the Texas A&M Invitational Tournament.  The win over Florida State was the first win over a ranked team by the Aggies in almost two years.  The Aggies will play 7th-ranked Michigan tonight at 7 pm in Reed Arena.

The Texas major league baseball teams are back in action tonight after both had a day off.  The Houston Astros will host the Los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers will host the Oakland A’s.

And, on Sunday, the Houston Texans will be hosting the Tennessee Titans while the Dallas Cowboys are playing at the Kansas City Chiefs.
