Sports Headlines–7/24/2013

The Brazos Valley Bombers’ bats were quiet last night during a 7 to 1 loss to the East Texas Pump Jacks on the road.  Bombers head coach Curt Dixon said following the game the Bombers weren’t aggressive enough at the plate. The Bombers and Pump Jacks will play again tonight in Kilgore.

The Houston Astros scored three runs in their last at-bat last night to end their six-game losing streak with a 5 to 4 win over the division leading Oakland A’s.  The rally was fueled by a two-run homer by the Astros’ Matt Dominguez.  The Astros and A’s will complete their series today in Houston.

And, the Texas Rangers gave up two runs in the ninth inning last night in losing to the New York Yankees 5 to 4.  The Rangers and Yankees will play again tonight in Arlington.
