Sports Headlines–6/27/2013

The Brazos Valley Bombers were winners again last night as they beat the East Texas Pump Jacks 8 to 4 at American Momentum Bank Ballpark in Bryan.  With the win, the Bombers clinched home field advantage for the Texas Collegiate League play-offs that begin August 10th.  The Bombers will host the Victoria Generals tonight at 7:05 pm.

Texas A&M’s Breeja Larson won her first U.S. National Championship in the 200-meter breaststroke yesterday and earned a trip to the World’s Championship in Barcelona, Spain, July 15th.  A&M Cammile Adams also has a spot on the U.S. Team at the World’s Championships after winning the 200-meter butterfly on Tuesday.

The Houston Astros rebounded from Tuesday’s loss to beat the St. Louis Cardinals last night 4 to 3.  The Astros are off today.

And, the Texas Rangers evened their series against the Yankees in New York last night with an 8 to 5 win.  The Rangers and Yankees will complete the series today in New York.
