The hottest team in Texas Collegiate League history will return to American Momentum Bank Ballpark tonight after a day off.  The Brazos Valley Bombers will host the East Texas Pump Jacks tonight for a 7:05 pm game.  The Bombers need just two more wins or two losses by the Victoria Generals to clinch home field advantage throughout the play-offs in August.  The Bombers have already clinched a play-off spot for August quicker than any team in league history.

Even though the start of the basketball season is still five months away, Texas A&M men’s head coach Billy Kennedy said yesterday he is excited about the Aggies’ prospects this year because of the combination of new recruits and returning players.  But, Kennedy says the league also promises to be much better this year.  The Aggies will play their season opener in early November.

The Houston Astros will host former division rival the St. Louis Cardinals for a short two game series beginning tonight at Minute Maid Ballpark in Houston.

And, the Texas Rangers are in New York tonight to open a series against the Yankees.
