Sports Headlines–6/10/2013

The Brazos Valley Bombers tasted defeat for the first time this season when they lost to the Texas Marshals in Dallas Saturday night 2 to nothing.  The loss comes after the Bombers rallied on Friday night to beat the Acadiana Cane Cutters 5 to 3.  The Bombers also bounced back last night to beat the Marshals 9 to 2.  The Bombers are off tonight.

The Texas A&M men’s outdoor track team won a National Co-Championship with Florida on Saturday to give the Aggies their fourth National Title.  The Aggie women also showed well finishing in second place behind Kansas.

Four Aggie baseball players were taken in the Major League baseball draft last week.  Mikey Reynolds was selected by the Atlanta Braves, Kyle Martin was picked by the Boston Red Sox, Rafael Pineda was taken by the Seattle Mariners, and Jason Jester was selected by the San Diego Padres.

The Houston Astros are glad to be leaving Kansas City after being swept by the Royals this weekend.  The Astros lost on Friday 4 to 2, on Saturday 7 to 2, and yesterday 2 to nothing.  The Astros are in Seattle tonight to play the Mariners.

The Texas Rangers salvaged the final game of their series in Toronto yesterday as they rallied for a 6 to 4 win over the Blue Jays.  The Rangers had lost on Friday 6 to 1 and on Saturday 4 to 3 in 18 innings.  The Rangers are home tonight to host the Cleveland Indians.

And, the N-B-A Finals are tied at one-game-apiece after the San Antonio Spurs lost to the Heat in Miami last night 103 to 84.  The best-of-seven series continues tomorrow night in San Antonio.
