Sports Headlines–5/22/2013

The Texas A&M baseball team won their first round game at the S-E-C tournament yesterday beating Florida 6 to 3.  The Aggies will play Vanderbilt in the second round of the tournament today in Hoover, Alabama.

The Texas A&M Women’s Tennis Team came up just short of winning the National Championship yesterday as they lost 4 to 3 to Stanford.  It was the 17th National Championship in women’s tennis for Stanford.

The Houston Astros faltered in the late innings last night in losing to the Kansas City Royals 7 to 3.  And, the Texas Rangers lost a classic pitcher’s duel to the Oakland A’s last night 1 to nothing.  The Astros and Royals will play again tonight in Houston while the Rangers will wrap-up their series against the A’s today in Arlington.

The San Antonio Spurs won Game Two of the best-of-seven Western Conference Finals last night pulling away from the Memphis Grizzlies in overtime for a 93 to 89 victory.  Game Three of the series will be played Saturday in Memphis.

And, the Super Bowl is coming back to Houston.  Houston’s Reliant Stadium beat out Miami to host the 51st Super Bowl in 2017.
