Sports Headlines–5/21/2013

The Texas A&M baseball team begins the post-season today when they play their first game in the S-E-C tournament being played in Hoover, Alabama.  The Aggies will take on Florida with the winner advancing to play top-seeded Vanderbilt tomorrow.

The Texas A&M Women’s Tennis team beat U-C-L-A in the National Semi-Finals yesterday to advance to the National Championships where they will face Stanford this evening.  It is the first appearance by the Aggies in the National Championship match while Stanford is playing for their 17th National Title.

The Houston Astros played long-ball last night homering twice to beat the Kansas City Royals 6 to 5.  But, the Texas Rangers stumbled against Oakland losing to the A’s 9 to 2.  Tonight, the Astros and Royals play again in Houston while the Rangers and A’s play in Arlington.

And, the San Antonio Spurs will host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight for Game Two of the Western Conference Finals.  The Spurs won the first game of the best-of-seven series on Sunday.
