Sports Headlines–5/17/2013

The Texas A&M baseball team started their series at Tennessee last night with a 5 to 1 win.  The Aggies and Volunteers will continue the series today at 5 pm and will play a final game tomorrow at 12 noon.

The 21st-ranked Texas Aggie softball team will play their first game in the N-C-A-A play-offs today when they take on unranked Pennsylvania at 7 pm tonight at the Aggie Softball Complex.  23rd-ranked Baylor will play Arizona in the 4:30 pm game.  Games will also be played tomorrow and Sunday with the match-ups determined by tonight’s results.

The Houston Astros will return from a day of rest for the first game of an interleague series in Pittsburgh against the Pirates tonight.  The Astros and Pirates will also play tomorrow night and Sunday afternoon.

The Texas Rangers won the first game of a four-game series against the Detroit Tigers in a slugfest last night 10 to 4.  The Rangers and Tigers will continue the series tonight in Arlington.

And, the San Antonio Spurs advanced to the Western Conference Finals of the N-B-A play-offs last night with a 94 to 82 win over the Golden State Warriors in Oakland.  The Spurs will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday for the first game of the Conference Championship series.
