Sports Headlines–5/13/2013

The Texas A&M baseball team lost their series against L-S-U this weekend dropping two games Saturday to the Tigers.  In a game suspended by rain on Friday night, the Aggies lost early on Saturday to the Tigers 7 to 4 before dropping the final game of the series in 8 innings Saturday afternoon 2 to 1.  The Aggies will play one final home game tomorrow night when they host Texas-Pan American at Blue Bell Park.

The Texas Aggie softball team was made the 16th seed in the 64 team N-C-A-A tournament last night and will host first and second round games at the Aggie Softball Complex this weekend.  The Aggies will play Penn at 5 pm on Friday with the winner advancing to play the winner between Baylor and Arizona who play at 2:30 Friday afternoon.

The Texas A&M women’s track team won the S-E-C Outdoor Championship this weekend while the men’s team finished in third place behind Arkansas and Florida.

The San Antonio Spurs are tied two-games-apiece with the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference semi-final series after splitting a pair of play-off games over the weekend.  The Spurs beat the Warriors on Friday night 102 to 92, but lost yesterday 97 to 87.  The teams will play Game 5 of the series tomorrow night in San Antonio.

And, the Houston Astros were swept by the Texas Rangers this weekend.  The Rangers won on Friday 4 to 2, on Saturday 8 to 7, and yesterday 12 to 7.  The Astros are in Detroit tonight to begin a three game series against the Tigers while the Rangers are in Oakland to start a three game set with the A’s.
