Sports Headlines–5/9/2013

The 21st-ranked Texas A&M Softball team made an early exit from the S-E-C tournament yesterday losing to 7th-ranked and defending National Champion Alabama 10 to 9 in a first round game.  The Aggies will now wait for the announcement of the 64-team N-C-A-A tournament field on Sunday night to find out when and where they will next play.

The Texas Aggie baseball team will host 3rd-ranked L-S-U for the first game of a three-game series tonight at 8:05 pm at Blue Bell Park.  The Aggies and Tigers will play again tomorrow at 6:35 pm and Sunday at 12:05 pm.

The Houston Astros won their second straight game last night as they beat the visiting Los Angeles Angels 3 to 1.  The Texas Rangers were also winners as they split their two-game series with the Brewers in Milwaukee yesterday with a 4 to 1 victory.  The Astros will complete their series with the Angels tonight while the Rangers have the night off.

And, the San Antonio Spurs were unable to come back from a 16-point deficit last night as they lost to the Golden State Warriors 100 to 91.  The Western Conference semi-final series is now tied at one-game-apiece heading into tomorrow night’s game three at Golden State.
