The Texas A&M baseball team last night won a game over 3rd-ranked L-S-U that was delayed almost four hours by heavy rain and ended in the wee hours of this morning. In the end, the Aggies came away with a 2 to 1 win over the Tigers. A&M and L-S-U are scheduled to play again tonight at 6:35 pm at Blue Bell Park. Game three of the series is tomorrow at 12 noon.
Even though they won last night’s game 6 to 5, the Los Angeles Angels have filed a protest of the game against the Houston Astros. The controversy came in the 7th inning when the Astros sent relief pitcher Wesley Wright to the mound to warm up, but replaced him with reliever Hector Ambriz before he could throw a pitch. The move was allowed by the umpiring crew. The Angels contend that is a violation of the rules of major league baseball. Because the Angels won the game, officials say the doubt a ruling will ever be made about the protest. The Astros will begin a three game weekend series against the Texas Rangers tonight in Houston.
And, the San Antonio Spurs will play Game Three of their Western Conference semi-final series against the Golden State Warriors tonight in Oakland, California. The series is tied at one-game-apiece.
