Sports Headlines–4/11/13

The San Antonio Spurs lost to the Nuggets in Denver last night 96 to 86.  The Dallas Mavericks were also losers last night falling to the Phoenix Suns 102 to 91.  With the loss the Mavericks were eliminated from post-season play for the first time in 12 years.

The Houston Astros won their second straight game last night when they beat the Mariners in Seattle 8 to 3.  It is the first back-to-back wins of the season for the Astros who are off tonight.

The Texas Rangers won the coldest ever day game played in Arlington yesterday as they shut-out the Tampa Bay Rays 2 to nothing.  The Rangers are in Seattle tonight to begin a four-game series against the Mariners.

And, the Rangers announced yesterday that Nolan Ryan will remain with the team as its Chief Executive Officer.  Ryan’s future with the ball club had been unknown since Jon Daniels and Rick George were promoted to President positions last month.  Ryan said yesterday his job will be to work with Daniels, George and the ownership to build on the Rangers’ success of the past five years.
