Sports Headlines–4/9/2013

The Bryan Vikings baseball team will play host to District 14-5A leader The Woodlands tonight for a 7 pm game.  The A&M Consolidated Tigers are also playing a home game tonight hosting District 14-5A foe Lufkin at 6 pm.  The Rudder Rangers will be hosting Magnolia West for a District 18-4A game at 7 pm.  And, the College Station Cougars are hosting Madisonville for a District 18-3A game at 7 pm.

The Bryan Lady Vikings softball team is making the long trip to Lufkin tonight to play a District 14-5A game.  The A&M Consolidated Lady Tigers are hosting College Park at 6:30 pm for a District 14-5A game.  The Rudder Lady Rangers will play a District 18-4A game at home at 7 pm against Brenham.  And, the College Station Lady Cougars are hosting Madisonville for a District 18-3A game at 7 pm.

The Texas A&M baseball team will host Sam Houston State University at 6:35 pm tonight for a mid-week non-conference game.

The 10th-ranked Texas Aggie softball team is hosting Lamar University for a doubleheader today starting at 5 pm.

The Houston Rockets are hosting the Phoenix Suns at 7 pm tonight.

In major league baseball, the Houston Astros lost their six straight game last night as they fell to the Mariner in Seattle 3 to nothing.  But, the Texas Rangers slipped past the Tampa Bay Rays last night 5 to 4.  Tonight, the Astros and Mariners play again in Seattle and the Rangers and Rays play again in Arlington.

And, Louisville came from 12 points behind last night to beat Michigan 82 to 76 to win college basketball’s National Championship.  Louisville coach Rick Pitino becomes the first coach to win the Championship with two different teams.
