Sports Headlines–4/5/2013

The Bryan Vikings picked up a District 14-5A win last night when they shut-out Conroe Oak Ridge 9 to nothing.  The A&M Consolidated Tigers were also winners as they got past Conroe 7 to 2.  Tonight, the Vikings will travel to Conroe, the Tigers will play at the Woodlands, the Rudder Rangers will host Huntsville for a District 18-4A game, and the College Station Cougars will host Navasota for a District 18-3A game.  Also, tomorrow, the Cougars will host Georgetown East View for a Saturday afternoon non-district game.

The second crosstown showdown softball game of the season will be played tonight as the Bryan Lady Vikings host the A&M Consolidated Lady Tigers for a District 14-5A game.  Also tonight, the Rudder Lady Rangers will play a District 18-4A game at Waller.  Last night, Rudder lost a District 18-4A game to Magnolia West 9 to 4.  And, the College Station Lady Cougars will host Navasota tonight for a District 18-3A game.

The Texas A&M baseball team will host Auburn for the first game of a three-game S-E-C series tonight at 6:35 pm at Blue Bell Park.  The Aggies and Tigers will also play tomorrow at 2:05 pm and Sunday at 1:05 pm.

The 4th-ranked Texas Aggie softball team will host Colorado State tonight for the first game of a non-conference weekend series.  The Aggies and Lady Rams will play tonight at 7 pm, tomorrow at 4 pm, and Sunday at 12 noon.

In pro basketball last night, the San Antonio Spurs lost to the Thunder in Oklahoma City 100 to 88 and the Dallas Mavericks fell to the Nuggets in Denver 95 to 94.  Tonight, the Houston Rockets will play the Trailblazers in Portland and the Mavericks will play the Kings in Sacramento.

And, in major league baseball tonight, the Houston Astros will open a three-game series with the A’s in Oakland and the Texas Rangers will begin a three-game series in Arlington against the Los Angeles Angels.
