Tomorrow’s hearing begins at 10:30 in the Brazos County commission’s meeting room. A motorcyclist was killed early yesterday morning at the intersection of highways 6 and 14 just south of Bremond in robertson county. Trooper Jimmy Morgan says the collision between 21-year-old Jason Mitchell of Bridgeport’s motorcycle and 53-year-old James Chmiel of Bremond’s truck was forceful enough that it knocked the truck sideways. The truck pulled into the path of the motorcycle causing the accident. Morgan says they’re still looking at speeds and contributing factors to the crash, and they haven’t filed any charges at this time. Morgan says Mitchell was wearing a helmet.

And, a Navasota businessman is hospitalized in San Antonio after being shot. Family members say Mike Vivaldi of team auto was attempting to break up a disturbance between a man and a woman when the man went to his truck, pulled out a gun and fired at least two shots. The shooting was in the parking lot of a nightclub, where Vivaldi and some friends had gone after attending the Spurs game against Miami. Vivaldi, who was initially in critical condition, has stabilized and is expected to make a full recovery. The gunman and the woman involved in the disturbance drove away together and have not been found.
