A BRYAN MAN IS ACCUSED OF CRASHING HIS CAR INTO THE BACK OF A HOME AND LEAVING THE SCENE WHILE DRUNK EARLY YESTERDAY MORNING. OFFICER PATRICIA LOGAN WITH THE COLLEGE STATION POLICE DEPARTMENT SAYS NO ONE WAS HURT, BUT THE DAMAGE DONE BY 17-YEAR-OLD BILL CLINTON OROZCO-GARCIA”S CAR WAS BETWEEN $20,000 AND $100,000. LOGAN SAYS OROZCO-GARCIA, WHO IS ACCUSED OF DRUNK DRIVING AND FAILURE TO LEAVE INFORMATION, DROVE OVER A GAS METER, THROUGH A FENCE, AND SLID SIDEWAYS AGAINST THE HOUSE UNTIL HE HIT TWO POSTS SUPPORTING THE BACK PORCH. LOGAN SAYS ONE OF THE POSTS CRASHED THROUGH THE GLASS PATIO WINDOW AND THE OTHER ONE KNOCKED A HOLE IN THE MAGNOLIA DRIVE RESIDENCE. SHE SAYS INVESTIGATORS WERE ABLE TO FIND HIM BECAUSE HE CONTINUED TO DRIVE WITH A DEFLATED TIRE AND THE CAR”S RIM LEFT SCRAPE MARKS ON THE STREET THAT LED TO A HOME WHERE HE WAS LOCATED.

DUE TO RECENT COMPLAINTS ABOUT PARKING VIOLATIONS, OFFICER KELLEY MCKETHAN WITH BRYAN POLICE DEPARTMENT WANTS TO REMIND B-CS RESIDENTS OF A FEW SIMPLE RULES TO KEEP IN MIND. MCKETHAN SAYS TO STAY OUT OF FIRE LANES AND HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES UNLESS YOU HAVE THE PROPER PERMITS TO USE THOSE AREAS. MCKETHAN SAYS THE FIRST OFFENSE OF PARKING IN A ?????? ????????? HANDICAPPED SPACE WITHOUT A TAG IS MORE THAN $500, WITH THE COST GOING UP EACH TIME. SHE SAYS THE LINED SPACES NEXT TO THE HANDICAPPED SPOTS ARE ACTUALLY PART OF THE SPACE, SO THAT PEOPLE CAN UNLOAD WHEELCHAIRS, AND YOU CAN STILL BE FINED IF YOU PARK THERE.

AND, WITH THE REPUBLICAN PARTY UNDER SCRUTINY NOT JUST BY DEMOCRATS BUT ALSO BY ITS OWN MEMBERS, CONGRESSMAN BILL FLORES OF BRYAN SAYS THE G-O-P NEEDS TO DO A MUCH BETTER JOB IN TERMS OF ITS MESSAGING. WHETHER DONE THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA OR WEARING OUT SHOE LEATHER, FLORES SAYS THE PARTY NEEDS TO GET BACK TO THE BASICS OF GOING DOOR TO DOOR AND MAKING SURE TO COMMUNICATE WITH POTENTIAL VOTERS. HE SAYS HE HIMSELF WOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN ELECTED WITHOUT THOSE KINDS OF GRASSROOTS EFFORTS.
